When to use: If you want a convenient way to check and delete voicemails from the web
To check and delete voicemails using the web:
In chrome or another web browser, go to voicemail.it.umass.edu
Enter your username as the last 5 digits of your UMass phone number, for instance 51234.
Your security code is your voicemail pin you used in the office to check your voicemail.
Initially you will need to change a setting to be able to hear messages:
- Click on Web Phone Manager Settings
- Under playback settings, choose “Download” and Click OK
Click back on the Home tab, and you should be back in your voicemail inbox.
To hear a message, on the message you want, click on the Download Button (down arrow) on the right. Then open the downloaded sound file.
To delete messages, you can select the ones you want deleted and click on the top the link “Delete Selected”
When you are done, be sure to click the logout button on the top right, to ensure your voicemails are purged:
It is important to keep in mind that if we delete voicemails received as an attachment in our email it doesn’t delete them in our voicemail box, so those will stay in there and count against our quota and once it is full you will no longer receive messages. So we can delete them using this voicemail web interface, or using the phone system (dialing in 413-545-1000 #). Keep in mind too those using RingCentral at this time may also be using a RingCentral voicemail system, which is accessed through the app.
