If you're unable to set an Out of Office message on your Outlook desktop application, this may be caused by the following:
- Server is unavailable
- Message has exceeded the size limit of the server
- Too many rules in your Outlook desktop app
You can still set your Out of Office message by going to the web version of Outlook.
- Sign in to Outlook on your web browser
(Here's an article on how to do that: https://helpdesk.uww.umass.edu/hc/en-us/articles/360047138792-Checking-Your-Outlook-Email-in-Web-Browser) - Click on the gear icon on the top-right and search for "automatic replies" in the search area
- Click on the result. A window will pop up for you to turn on automatic replies and enter your message
- Once all set, click Save
