Recently, many people are experiencing slowness from opening/saving a file, opening folders, or general computer use. There are numerous reasons for this but we found that these two methods helped the most.
- Shutdown your computer daily: Windows computers will become slow or buggy if it has not been rebooted for a week. It is recommended that you shutdown the computer when you are done for the day and turn on when you need it for the next day.
- Launch and connect Global Protect: If you are experiencing slowness only when working from home and not at work on your laptop, doing this will likely resolve your slowness problem. If you do not know if it's caused by working from home, you can still give this method a try. The reason it is slow is because it is trying to access your documents folder which is located on the server, but can't due to it not being connected to VPN. Windows spends a few seconds each time looking for the drive.
If none of these helped, there may be a greater underlying issue with your computer. Contact UWW Tech Support for assistance.
